The Tele-Rolleiflex is very rare and very specialized. Approach any purchase with extreme caution.

• Mechanical inspection: Check every mechanical function carefully — shutter, film advance, focusing, frame counter. Spare parts for the Tele-Rolleiflex are nearly impossible to find, so any mechanical issue could render the camera unusable.
• Service difficulty: Very few technicians have experience servicing this model, and those who do charge premium rates. Factor potential repair costs into your budget before buying.
• Buy from a specialist: At this price point, always buy from a reputable specialist dealer who offers a return policy. Avoid private sales unless you can inspect the camera in person and test it with film.
• Not a first TLR: This is a specialized camera for experienced Rolleiflex users who specifically need the 135mm focal length. If you are new to TLRs, start with a standard 75mm or 80mm model first.
• Rarity premium: Prices are high due to rarity rather than practical advantage over other medium format options. Make sure you genuinely want the Tele-Rolleiflex experience before committing the funds.
