The C220f updated the lighter-weight Mamiya with improved features while maintaining its portability advantage over the heavier C330 series.

The C220f is an updated C220 with minor refinements. Here is what to look for.

Bellows first: As with every Mamiya C-series body, inspect the bellows before anything else. Open the back, hold the body up to a bright light, and check for pinholes or cracks along the folds.
Film door latch: The film door latch should close securely and stay shut. A loose or worn latch can cause light leaks along the film door edge, which are easily confused with bellows leaks.
Verify the "f" designation: Some sellers list a plain C220 as a C220f. The C220f has minor body differences. Check the camera's nameplate engraving carefully if the "f" designation matters to you for resale value.
Lighter than C330f: The C220f is noticeably lighter than the C330f, making it a better choice for handheld shooting and travel. It trades interchangeable screens and self-timer for the weight savings.
Shared lens system: All C-series lenses from 55mm to 250mm fit the C220f. A body without a lens is not usable. The 80mm f/2.8 standard lens is the most common and affordable starting point.
